Our Costa Rica coffee is grown and milled in the country’s famous Tarrazú region in an area of high peaks and volcanic soil. There, coffee trees flourish at high altitudes on slopes facing the Pacific Ocean side of the country. With stringent quality-control measures during processing, this coffee is wet-processed (washed) at the La Pastora mill and achieves a standard of excellence that is unequalled among most other Latin American coffees. We roast the beans to a light-medium level to preserve the delicate cherry and milk chocolate notes and bright acidity.
