Brewing Change: How Your Coffee Supports Education in Honduras

At Dilworth Coffee, we believe every cup of should do more than just taste good—it should do good, too. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Educate2Envision (E2E), a nonprofit organization bringing secondary education to rural communities in Honduras.

Why Education Matters

When we first visited Santa Lucia, a family farm in Los Planes, Honduras, we learned something surprising: the local school only went through 6th grade. For many kids in rural areas, that’s where education ends. Secondary schools are often hours away by foot, and transportation (when available) can be too expensive for families to afford. As a result, less than half of Honduran youth continue their education beyond primary school.

Enter Educate2Envision

Educate2Envision works to change that story. By building and supporting 7th–9th grade classrooms in rural communities, they give kids the chance to keep learning beyond 6th grade. Students also take part in community projects—everything from installing water systems to helping elderly neighbors—so they grow as leaders while giving back, too.

Our Role (And Yours!)

In 2018, Dilworth Coffee teamed up with E2E to help fund a school in Los Planes. Our contributions cover essentials like teacher salaries, school supplies, uniforms, and even technology like laptops and projectors. Since then, we’ve celebrated full classes of students graduating—and many of them have gone on to continue their education or return to mentor younger kids.

Because of this success, E2E has been able to expand into more communities, bringing education and opportunity to even more families in Honduras.

Real Students, Real Stories

Behind every bag of Honduran coffee you brew is a story of possibility:

Yenry is an ambitious student who is applying for a special scholarship program where they would receive training in motorcycle repair. Yenry is also a talented young musician and, thanks to Educate2Envision, is able to continue their creative pursuits. Click here for a note from Yenry.

Angie is a student who dreams of being an engineer. She serves as a co-facilitator with Yenry, teaching leadership courses at the school. Together they are developing their public speaking skills! Click here for a note from Angie.

These are just a few of the incredible students whose lives are being shaped by this Educate2Envision.
